Egyptian Esaaf pharmacies open on Ain Shams University campus
10th October 2024
We are proud to introduce “Ambulance 24 Pharmacies of the Egyptian Pharmacy Services Center”, which are 5 24/7 pharmacies that cover 4 governorates in the first phase and will expand to cover all Egyptian cities within one year.
By the grace of God, the official opening of the development of “Ambulance Pharmacies” has been successfully completed. The name has been changed to “ISAF Pharmacy 24” to reflect that these pharmacies serve patients 24 hours a day. A comprehensive redevelopment was carried out, including the standardization of the visual identity of these pharmacies, with a plan to expand geographically and spread the chain across all Egyptian governorates within a year.
As a first phase, the development of Ambulance 24 Ramses pharmacy was completed, which offers a modern service worthy of the Egyptian citizen, including the activation of the waiting service. Ambulance 24 also opened in Cairo's Amiriya district, in addition to opening branches in Mansoura and Assiut governorates. Furthermore, the development of an ambulance pharmacy in Alexandria will be initiated with the aim of implementing the Ambulance 24 model in all governorates to ensure the provision of excellent pharmaceutical services to the Egyptian public.
Dr. Ahmed Afifi, CEO of the Egyptian Company for Medical Investments Group, inaugurated the Ambulance 24 pharmacy via videoconference in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, noting that these pharmacies work to provide rare medicines in the Egyptian market. They also provide medicines that positively affect the patient's mental health, in cooperation with the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority. In addition, these pharmacies provide all types of regular and therapeutic baby milk, insulin, and cancer medications that are difficult to find in regular pharmacies.
The prime minister also watched a video reviewing the development plan for the Egyptian Ambulance pharmacies, which emphasized their role as an essential part of Egypt's healthcare infrastructure. These pharmacies are a vital complement to the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Trading Company, playing a crucial role in providing a comprehensive range of medicines, both local and imported. Their mission is to improve the quality of healthcare and ensure safe access to treatment for patients.
It has been observed that about half a million patients visit these pharmacies annually, presenting an ongoing challenge to effectively cater to their needs. As such, a comprehensive upgrade of the ambulance pharmacies has been undertaken in line with Egypt's vision to support the healthcare sector and promote the safe supply of medicines, especially in times of crisis. This development also comes in response to the Prime Minister's recommendations to maximize the use of these pharmacies in securing essential medicines for patients, especially in emergency situations.
